Charlie Copeland, State Chair

John Foltz, Vice Chair

Bill Smith, Treasurer

Carol Bodine, Secretary

We also approved changes to the party rules.  These included:

1) Moving the 13th RD to our region

2) Streamlining convention procedures for selecting officers for conventions

3) Re-working the endorsement process for candidates in election years

All these rule changes were presented at our April region meeting and emailed to the region.

We also voted on our slate of delegates for the 2015 State Convention.  The vote was unanimous.

And we were given the final report from the Rules Committee.  Anthony Delcollo presented the proposed changes, which were handed out for all to see and were subsequently mailed to the region in the "Weekly Update".

We also took on a volunteer service activity and packaged 85 bags of food for the homeless of our community.  With the help of all in attendance we completed the job in about 10 minutes!

September Region Meeting

Dylan Gallimore, the state party's data manager, gave us an update on its new data program.  Dylan is working on bringing the State GOP “into the here and now” with data that can help candidates win elections and incumbents understand their constituents better. The app “Advantage” allows for information to be gathered on a candidates phone, Ipad, tablet , or computer, immediately after talking with someone at their door. They can collect info on what issues are important to the homeowner, if they want yard signs, if they will support certain candidates, if they need absentee ballots, etc. The info then goes to state headquarters where it is available for other candidates to use.

“The better we understand our voters, the better we can get the message to them and get them to vote for us,” Dylan said. He also thinks we will have caught up or even passed the state Dems in use of technology by the 2016 election.

We also had an update from Dave Tancredi on his campaign, and from John Marino (several of whose EDs are in the 25th RD)

At the beginning of the meeting we conducted our vote on our delegate slate for the September 13 state convention.  The slate was unanimously approved.

We then had a series of candidates provide us updates on their campaigns: Kevin Wade, Ken Simpler and Ted Kitilla.  (Note: our region chairman again reiterated that he was happy to have any candidate come to speak with our group, if he is contacted prior to the meeting.)

Our region chair also talked about the Western Region GOP donation to the Gala on August 15th. It raised $175 at the event.  He also stressed the need to follow rules regarding campaign sign placement (the rules are available on this website).
